Hi ,

I have a general query regarding peoplesoft messaging architecture.

Question) In case we have defined 2 message channels A and B , and we know few messages uses Channel A and other uses Channel B .
Now If A gets blocked because of some issue {one message remains in timeout status and other messages remain in queue behind it } will it impact the message delivery through other Channel B.

Thanks
Yogesh

Thanks for posting your question!

No, if the message channel A gets blocked then it won’t affect the message channel B. The 2 message channels are independent of each other.

Really liked the blog …the way the questions are answered is excellent. Good Job..!
Iam kind of new to Integration Broker.
We have an IB setup to sync chart field tables in Finance and HR .
this is how our buisiness process is set..any deletions on these chartfield tables on finance side are not carried thru IB on the HR end but are manually deleted.(updates and additions are thru IB thou)
but if user by mistake deletes any rows on Finance and tries to add it again ..it chokes up all the messages on the HR end …we have warned users not to do so ..but we still come across this situation every now and then ….
My question is… is there any better way to handle this….any other work around to identify these kind of buisiness process errors?

eagerly waiting on reply/suggestions..
thanks
Kumar.

As you have mentioned, the message is used for addition and updating. If a user deletes any row on FIN and then tries to add it again, then message is published from FIN to HR. Now when the message reaches HR, the same row (with same key fields) is already present in HR and thus it throws the error and the message gets blocked.

I don’t think that there is any way to stop this but yes you can minimize it by creating 2 different message channels, one for addition and one for update. If the message channel gets blocked due to the above scenario then also you won’t have any problem while updating. And you can monitor regularly for any errors and clear the message channel as and when required.

Thanks for posting your question!

Use the property FieldName.Visible = false at the appropriate event (Page Activate or FieldChange)
