I am very new to PeopleSoft but it has been running for about two years in my company. I have the task of loading new employee information. I have the information in a database and currently people are re-entering all the information into PeopleSoft. I understand there are some API’s that I could use to load this information. I do not know where to start. HELP!!

Thanks for posting your question!

You can use the Excel to CI utility:

Using the Excel to Component Interface Utility – Search for further information in Peoplebooks.

1) Set up connection information.

2) Create a template.

3) Manage templates.

4) Stage and submit data.

5) Resubmit corrected data.

Thanks

Hi, I have to load new hire employee details to PS database using Excel To CI, as they are new hires, i have to assign a Next available Emplid for them, and based on their organizational realtionship, if they are either Employee or CWR then i should load job data and if POI only personal data. Please let me know how to achieve this and also let me know what is the Component interface for preson data, as JOB_DATA is the CI to enter job information. Any help in this regard will be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Srikanth

Uploading and Reading Excel File I would like to allow a user to upload a pre-formatted Excel file with data they have entered. This data should then be read, line by line and processed accordingly. For each row processed, I would like to kick off an Oracle stored procedure and place the results in a grid and allow the user to export the results back to Excel. What is the best option available in Peoplesoft?
